The Yale YC beam clamp is a simple yet versatile beam attachment suitable for steel 'H' or 'I' type beams of most sizes. Available to purchase from the beam clamp collection from Lifting Gear Direct at very keen prices.
This standard type of beam clamp provides a great beam attachment which easily fixes into position on your beam. It creates a solid anchor point from which you would usually attach a hoisting device such as a chain block or electric hoist.
The YC range has 5 model variations with loading capacities from 1000kg up to 10000kg. They can be adjusted to fit a wide variety of beams with different flange widths, this is easily done by simply turning the threaded spindle until a firm and secure grip is accomplished.
The most common method of using the Yale YC beam clamp is horizontally under a beam, however it is possible to use them as a lifting clamp for lifting steel beams when multiples are used together with a spreader beam to make the beam stable and well balanced. Refer to manufacturers instructions for this method of use.
When attaching a load to the beam clamp you should ensure it is and remains vertical to the clamp, side loading is not permitted. The lifting device and load should be attached to the centre of the spindle using the hoists top hook or a shackle, never a rope or chain.
It is extremely important to check the beam clamp is in good condition with no apparent faults prior to use. You should also check the spindle regularly during use to ensure it remains tightly clamped to the beam. As with all lifting equipment thorough examinations are required after certain periods of use and should be carried out by a trained person. Lifting Gear Direct can complete this for you and provide all the necessary paperwork for your files.
We have a great collection of beam attachments for your perusal including other beam clamp options. Also available in this category are a number of beam trolleys. A beam trolley not only enables anchoring a hoist to a beam but also allows it to move back and forth across its length. We have a choice of push travel, geared travel of powered trolleys available. These are often more versatile but your choice will depend on how you wish to use the attachment.
