Yale Batterystar Hoist Advantages

This Battery powered lifting hoist is an innovative device and is perfect for lifting tasks when a power supply is not available but you need more speed and power than a manual hoist. Like many other tools and devices, battery power is the next generation of powered devices so there will probably be more and more come to market.

The Yale brand by Columbus McKinnon collaborated with Milwaukee Tools to make this design happen. The outcome is a great lifting hoist which is certainly up to the job. The easy portability is a big plus, keep it in your work vehicle as an extension of your tool box, then use it anywhere you need to.

The hoist can be purchased in a variety of kits which have different components. One kit has a great storage box on a trolley so moving it around will be even easier, not to mention you have somewhere safe to store it.

Standard or climbing hoist

The Yale batterystar has the advantage of being able to be used anyway up, therefore it can be a standard hoist or used as a climbing hoist.

As a climbing hoist your load hook becomes the top anchor hook and when operated the hoist body will climb up itself along with the load. Using the hoist in this inverted set up will save you lifting the hoist body up to the suspension point, thus saving much physical energy and reduce the risk of strains.

Yale Battery Hoist Specifics

The Yale battery lifting hoist uses a Milwaukee 12Ah M18 lithium battery which are useable with many other Milwaukee tools.

Ideal for construction, maintenance, gantry cranes, fire and rescue, and many more areas. The hoist weight around 20kg including the 6 metres of chain (not battery).

Remote operation of the Batterystar lifting hoist means the operator can remain a safe distance (up to 20m) from the hazard area during operation. What's more the intelligent system alerts the user to low battery, over capacity, over temperature and inspection reminders with its built in light up icons.

The true variable speed control is a great feature of the Batterystar hoist, just the lightest touch on the control button and movement will begin slowly. The harder the control buttons are pressed the quicker it goes. 2.4 metres per minute is the top speed.

The FEM (ISO) class is 1Cm(M2) and a 20% duty rating.

The hoist incorporates dual overload protection in the form of an electronic clutch plus a secondary mechanical clutch. Integrated upper and lower limit switches protect the clutch, motor and gearbox from damage, thus extending the life of the hoist.

When it comes to the brake system there is a patent pending on this design. The mechanical automatic brake will activate when the load is lowered for optimum safe operation. Additionally there are little inspection windows (top and bottom) for easily checking brake wear.
