As the new type of lifting chain this Tycan fibre chain is as strong as steel chains but much lower in weight which can bring many benefits to your slinging operation. Efficiency is improved whilst hazards are reduced. We have many types of components to fit to the Tycan lifting chain in order to best suit your lifting operation.
Manufactured from 100% Dyneema man-made fibre (the worlds strongest). It is built up in layers into a Mobius twist design, formed into links and stitched on either side. The minimum breaking load is four times the working load limit so you can be assured of its strength and safety. It comes with all the necessary safety markings with CE, WLL, product ID and tracing code and has DNV GL type approval. Full certification is also available.
Testing prior to release is top notch; for every 1000 metres produced 5 links are tested to destruction in order to confirm the minimum breaking load, what's more, each chain length is proof load tested to 2 x the WLL. Safety is paramount in all lifting operations and you can see that the Tycan lifting chain is as safe as it possible can be.
Tycan chain is extremely flexible and very soft when compared to the usual steel chain. Handling is easy and much more comfortable, and with its lightweight nature its easy to transport. Say good bye to knocks, bruises, muscle aches and high noise levels that comes with steel chain; Tycan fibre lifting chain is lovely and quiet to use, perhaps with an occasional chink of its end fittings. This means noise pollution is reduced and your ears/hearing is more protected.
This lifting chain is suitable for most general purposes as well as in marine and sub-sea environments, this is mainly thanks to its buoyancy and waterproof nature. UV light and salt resistance are other key benefits to using Tycan chain in marine environments. This chain can be used in a wide variation of temperatures too, from -40 to +70 degrees is the safety range and should not be used outside of this range. Its easy to make up a 1, 2, 3 or 4 leg chain sling with Tycan rope and components enabling the lifting of all types of objects. You must follow the manufacturers manual and ensure the fibre chain is located correctly within the hook as shown in picture.
There are four types of Tycan chain available for lifting tasks the load limits are 2.6 tonne, 4 tonne, 5 tonne and 6,8 tonne, each of these chains has different link sizes which you can find the details for in the specification tab above.
End fittings / chain components specifically for use with this Tycan chain are available from Lifting Gear Direct and include master links, connectors, sling hooks, clevis hooks and grab hooks. They are all made from quality grade 10 steel.
