These D shackles may not be load-tested, but they look good and provide adequate sturdiness for standard attachment and connection purposes. Just make sure to avoid deploying them for lifting tasks, as they are unrated and thus unsuitable and unsafe for such activities.
These d shackles are extra wide which makes them ideal for tasks which require an extra wide opening connector.
They are manufactured from 316 AISI stainless steel with a nice polished finish. This finish not only looks the part, but is a breeze to look after. Cleaning and maintenance will be much easier than untreated metal shackles.
Corrosion resistance is also assured, so this type of shackle is often adopted for maritime use. The salt water and moist air will do little to impact the surface. The one thing to remember is that stainless steel shackles are at their most durable when attached to other stainless steel fittings. If you want to prolong the life of this type of loose tackle, make sure this thought is at the front of your mind.
The wide jaw dee type shackle has a standard screw pin closure. This makes it easy to attach to other objects, but is not the most secure option available. If you absolutely do not want the shackle to come loose, a stainless steel d shackle with safety bolt included will put your mind at rest.
These shackles are not to be used for lifting purposes because they have not been tested according to the necessary specifications. Our high tensile d shackles, also produced using stainless steel, do come with full lifting credentials and an EC declaration of conformity, which will be necessary to comply with regulations.
We are proud to provide a huge number of different products which can take on lifting tasks of all shapes and sizes. From hoists that can handle heavy loads to height safety supplies designed to protect workers in a range of commercial settings, Lifting Gear Direct has it all. Shackles are just a small part of our catalogue of kit, available to order right now.
