Advantages of a Lithium Battery Pallet Truck

These pallet trucks have many advantages over a manual truck, probably the biggest benefit is that the user will use minimal physical effort, thus reducing risk of strains and injuries.

Using brushless motors these pallet trucks are largely maintenance free and are either 750W or 1000W depending on the model (see Specifications). Spare parts including extra lithium batteries are available.

Together with a spare battery these lithium battery pallet trucks are built to work 24 hour days. They are robust in design and well suited to small work places. Their compact design and easy steer-ability enable them to be used in tailgate trucks, work vans, elevators and more.

The speeds at which they can travel is up to 4.5km/h when unladen and 4km/h laden. The speed can be adjusted on the hand controls.

There are 4 models in this lithium ion battery pallet truck series, the three EPT models are fully powered by the battery. This means forward, reverse, up and down movements are powered at the touch of a button. The PPT model is semi-powered, where the forward and reverse movements are powered by the onboard battery, but the up and down movement of the forks is operated manually by means of hydraulics, like a standard manual pallet truck. This is typically the cheaper option.

The EPT15L model has a lower fork height for where clearance is an issue.

Operating the Lithium Pallet Truck

The EPT lithium pallet trucks are operated directly from the handle from simple steering to adjusting the speed and raising the forks. There is also a small display which shows you the mode icons including recharge alert, hour meter, horn, error displays and more.

At the centre of the handle you will find buttons for the hors as well as button to lift and lower the forks. At the side there is a directional propulsion lever to drive the truck forwards or backwards.

There is an emergency stop/ power on/off button located on top of the main body. Pressing this button will cut of the electric system and apply the brakes. Simply pull it back up to start again.

There is an option for an intelligent control fob to enable hands free drive mode up to 2 metres. (see the user manual for more).

For manual operation you simply lower the handle into the driving area and press the throttle in the direction you wish to go, the more you press the faster you go.

The Lithium Battery

The lithium battery packs used in these pallet trucks have a high safety performance thanks to it adopting a soft package battery tech. It also incorporates a built in protection board with protection from over charging and discharging. These maintenance free batteries do not require water to be added, have a long service life. The battery is inserted at the top of the main body and can be switched out in just 6 seconds.

The batteries are both safe and reliable whilst complying with IEC, UL global requirements.
