Wire rope is made up of various bundles of steel wire which is then twisted together in different ways to make up the different types of wire rope constructions.
A wire ropes construction pertains to the way in which the rope is made. For example a 7x36 rope is made up of 7 strands each containing a bundle of 36 wire strands. You can also have left or right hand lay pertaining the the direction of the ropes twist. Non-rotating rope is another popular rope construction which will not unravel in particular circumstances.
