Subsea Lifting Equipment

Subsea Lifting Equipment

As mentioned above when working in marine environments appropriate lifting equipment must be used. Failure to use certified equipment could be disastrous.

The subsea lifting equipment collection at Lifting Gear Direct is certified for its intended use. The key areas of operation for such equipment includes many marine industries; dockside, off-shore engineering, oil, gas, marine science, shipwreck recovery, seabed surveys & mining and more.

All of these areas have one thing in common – moisture! Add to that the briny conditions of the sea and you have an environment that is conducive to rust and corrosion when it comes to metal.

With this in mind we are pleased to be able to offer a range of lifting equipment with components, lubricants and coatings that can withstand these conditions.

Subsea Lever Hoists

We offer two ratchet lever hoists that are certified for subsea use, one is from the Tiger brand – the SS19 which comes in a range of lifting capacities from 0.8 to 20 tonnes. The second lever hoist is from the William Hackett brans – the SSL5 which has capacities from 0.8 to 10 tonnes. These are also suitable for use top side and for offshore applications amongst others.

Subsea Chain blocks

There are two chain blocks in this category by Tiger and Hackett brands. The hacketts SSC4 subsea chain block has models which can handle top capacities of 50 tonnes and is suitable for multi-immersions over a 31 day period. The corrosion resistant Tiger SS20 capacities go up to 30 tonnes and can cope with multi-immersions over a 54 day period. Certain conditions must be met to qualify for these figures.

ROV Controlled Chain Blocks

Tiger and Hacketts are the brand names which offer ROV controlled chain blocks. The Tiger ROV subsea chain hoist has a number of interface options and top capacities of 20 tonnes. The Hacketts SSC4 ROV manual chain hoist boasts quad pawls and up to 20 tonne capacities, there is a manually operated and a hydraulic operated version available.

Other Subsea Lifting Equipment

Besides the subsea lifting hoists there are some other types of lifting equipment that can be used in full submersion applications, thus suitable for subsea use and other marine applications.

Our subsea load cell shackle enables safe connections whilst enabling precise load calculations and comes with 20 metres of subsea rated cable with data transferred to the hand held display for easy reading of the loads weight.
