As you are probably aware, all types of lifting equipment must be kept in good working condition in order to comply with health and safety regulations. For items like overhead cranes and other fixed equipment, perhaps a fitted hoisting system we can carry out a customer on-site servicing and repair service.
Maintenance and servicing
Maintenance and servicing is the key to ensuring safe to use lifting equipment. Besides your regular maintenance tasks like cleaning and lubricating, full servicing should be carried out on a regular basis; it is common to combine this with your mandatory annual or 6 monthly thorough inspection (depending on the equipment) in accordance to LOLER regulations.
Correctly servicing your lifting gear regularly will keep it operating safely and smoothly whilst extending its working life, so whilst you may be charged a small amount for a qualified person to carry out your on-site servicing and perhaps inspections, it will pay off in the long run. Your equipment will operate more efficiently, health and safety will be happy; you comply with LOLER and PUWER regulations but most importantly your workplace and workers will be safer.
Lifting Gear Direct has a team of engineers with LOLER accreditation to carry out servicing and inspections at your place of work. We can set up a regular servicing & maintenance contract for you, where after the initial service we will contact you when your next service is due and book you into our schedule. This way you are always up to date. Remember to keep all servicing and inspections paperwork as they may be required in the future.
Repairs & 24 hr Breakdowns
When your lifting equipment breaks down it can cause many problems, with the biggest issue being work down time. Time is money as they say and this can become extremely apparent when your electric hoist breaks down, or other lifting equipment fails.
Where possible it is usually more cost effective to repair your equipment rather than replace it. Our engineers will always endeavour to fix any problems as soon as possible. Some spares are carried or easy to obtain quickly, but some may need to be ordered in which can take a little longer.
For non-essential items which need repairing such as chains, or if you can use other equipment whilst repairs are being completed we can receive your equipment in our factory where our engineers can give it their full attention.
As we all know and have probably experienced, breakdowns can happen at any time, day or night which can be most inconvenient. However we do offer a 24 hour breakdown service where we will endeavour to get an engineer to you a.s.a.p. no matter what time it is. The engineer will do everything he can to get you up and running as quickly as possible.
