Design Features of Bow Type Green Pin Sling Shackles

These shackles may look like any other typical bow shackle but they are not – they have a specially designed bevelling to the round part of the shank; this special shaped area enlarges the contact area for the sling which reduces wear and stress to the webbing. They can also be called a sling saving shackle. 

These green pin sling shackles – bow type are perfect for use with soft round slings as the smoother, bigger contact area enlarges the load bearing surface and helps to reduce the friction/wear to the webbing materials which in turn will extent the working life of your sling. 

Other Advantages

A further benefit of these shackles is that they can be utilized in more extreme temperature ranges, from -20 up to +200 degrees C. This is ideal for many industries, environments and climates of all kinds. 

The shank and the pin are made from high tensile steel, quenched and tempered to grade 8; the shank/body is painted white and the pin is green.

The 5:1 safety factor provides good reliability with the minimum breaking load = 5 x WLL.

These heavy-duty shackles start off with a load limit of seven tonnes, so even the most compact unit is still sturdy and strong.
