It is preferable to use this type of shackle for lifting operations where there may be friction applied to the pin/bolt; a standard screw pin could potentially un-screw in this scenario, whereas the safety bolt variety remains in place.

The safety factor for these green pin d shackles with safety bolt is 6:1 - MBL (minimum breaking load) equals 6 x WLL. EC declarations issued for conformity as standard.
