This is the standard green pin bow shackle with safety bolt, it meets the necessary requirements including EN 13889 and the US Fed spec performance requirements. It is similar to the standalone green pin bow shackle, but is more secure thanks to the bolt that prevents unwanted uncoupling.

Construction of Green Pin Bow Shackles

Each of the shackles in this range are manufactured from high tensile steel and are fully quenched and tempered to meet grade 6 requirements; hot dipped galvanised finish. This means they should be easily able to cope with environments in which the temperature plunges to 20 degrees below zero, or when working in atmospheres of 200 degrees Celsius. 

In short, if you are looking for durable, reliable lifting tackle, then these shackles should tick all the boxes. 

Safety Features

The safety bolt incorporates a cotter pin which is inserted into the shank of the bolt after the nut has been placed; this cotter pin or split pin acts as a retainer, and prevents the nut from winding off the pin/bolt. 

These shackles are ideal for high vibration areas and/or where there may be friction on the pin. These scenarios could cause a screw pin type shackle to unwind and fall out, however you can be assured that this will not happen with a green pin bow shackle with safety bolt. 

The safety factor is 6:1 - MBL = 6x WLL, meaning it will not break until at least a minimum overload of six times the stated working load limit is reached. These green pin bow shackles with safety bolt can be used across a wide temperature range, from minus 20 up to plus 200 degrees centigrade, as discussed earlier.
