There are two models in this range, the FDHM-1 for handling a single Mauser drum and the FDHM-2 for lifting one or two Mauser drums.
With full automatic operation, actual handling of the drum is minimal to non-existent. These drum handlers can be fitted to the forks on a forklift truck with relative ease. They are fixed into place with robust zinc plated screw clamps which should be tested periodically throughout use to ensure they remain tight.
The automatic arms will begin to open as soon as contact is made with the drum and close around it when the furthest position is reached. Mauser drums or egg shaped drums are lifted from the bottom tapered portion; there is a stabilising support to the rear to provide additional stability when the drum is lifted.
