Aluminium Gantry Dimensions

When it comes to the dimensions for the 3000kg aluminium porta gantry you have many sizes and configurations to choose from, not to mention the optional accessory add ons.

The Span

The span is basically the total length of the top beam. You will also need to note the length of the working span which is the distance that the beam trolley and hoist can travel. See dimension images for more clarification.

The top beam comes in eight widths ranging from 2500mm up to 9000mm. This is the full width, not the working length (the area where the trolley can move back and forth). The overall minimum working beam length is 1180mm and the overall maximum working span is 8080mm. There are six other sizes in-between these minimum and maximum measurements.

When you look at the specifications for the beam you will see a total length as well as a minimum and maximum measurement for each beam. This is the minimum and maximum working length available, due to the fact that the span is adjustable. The a frame legs can be moved in and out within the stated distances in order to better suit your lifting task.

The Height

There are seven height options to choose from and, just like the span the height can be adjusted within a specific range. The smallest overall height available to the top of the beam is 2730mm and the largest is 5848mm; (82mm) should be added for where the trolley extends past the top of the beam)

The measurement for the height of lift will be a little different to the overall height. The former tells you the maximum height that a load can be lifted from ground level. The latter tells you the overall height to ensure it will fit into the space for its intended use.

Height of lift or HOL measurements to the lifting eye vary between models/sizes; starting at the lowest end with 2410mm to the upper end with 5527mm.

Don't forget that within each size there is the potential for height adjustment. There are between 5 and 8 adjusting increments of either 150mm or 200mm (model depending).

As an example if you have the tallest (5438mm to top of beam) model then the lifting height can range from a minimum 3927mm to the maximum 5527mm, thanks to the 8 x 200mm increments.

Aluminium Gantry Trolley Options

There are four trolley options on these aluminium lifting gantries. The first one is the master link trolley which comes as standard and is fitted to the top beam during the set up process and can be locked into a set position if required.. Secondly there is a gated trolley which has a quick release pin for quick attachment and removal from the beam.

Next we have the close coupled trolley which enables more height of lift, it can be locked to a set position and is fitted to the beam during set up. Lastly we have a gear driven trolley, also installed during set up. For use with loads up to 2000kg to enable smooth, controlled movements.
